Light cigarette smoking – how hard is it to quit?

March 11, 2011

light cigarette smokingI want to tell you about smoking light cigarettes or light cigarette smoking, as it is called sometimes. Recently I have got the news about addiction it causes. Some new researches were held to find out how hard it is. They were successful.

We’ll begin with the conclusion: light cigarette smoking is no easier to quit then heavy smoking. It is based on the results of the survey of residents in one of the USA states. These results were studied by Dennis Trinidad – lead researcher of Claremont Graduate University’s School of Community and Global Health. He was helped by researchers for the Universities of California in San Diego and San Francisco, as well as from the University of California in San Francisco.

One of the reasons to hold this research was the growth of “smoking light cigarettes” per cent of the whole amount of smoking cases. Frequently I see a little kid smoking cigarette or a little girl smoking cigarette. Lots of people think that light cigarette smoking is some kind an excuse for their bad habit. But it’s not – it is still dangerous and acts on your health badly.

The research has shown that people who smoke lights suffer from the same psychological and almost same physical problems while quitting. Among them: urge for a smoke, temporary insomnia, etc. Dennis Trinidad also stated that ethnic and racial minorities are more likely to smoke lights than others, and for them it is not easier to quit (and even harder in some cases).

It seems that it is better not to begin at all. Smoking light cigarettes is no better, for sure.
